Going Overboard - Hot Beverage Consumption

Though tea and coffee are wonder brews consuming beyond the limit can be harmful. The hot beverages come along with plethora of health benefits. This accrues when the consumption is under the recommended limitation.

Tea does not contain caffeine in the same quantity as coffee does hence its consumption is advisable up to four and five cups a day. Consumption greater than this may cause loss of sleep, acidity and possible increase in heart beat. Higher levels of bad cholesterol results from drinking unfiltered coffee in excess.

Tea is a winner as far as beneficial aspect are concerned thanks to it variants and less quantity of caffeine. But this does not mean one should consume it in excess.  Heavy caffeine consumption is linked to many ailments in our body.

As per reports coffee contains as much as 180 mg of caffeine whilst in the other it is up to 70 mg maximum. Hence the preference is obvious. The consumption of coffee is more per person as compered to tea making the latter a better choice in obtaining the health benefits.

The Clash of Beverages - Tea or Coffee

The hot beverages are the most consumed in the World. The origin of coffee is said to have taken place in the Islamic World namely Ethiopia. From hear the popularity is said to have spread to nearby Kenya & Sudan.  Although the earliest evidence points to 15th Century the brew must have been popular ages back.

It was trade in the 16th Century that brought the hot beverage to Europe. But large scale popularity is attributed to the 19th Century in Ethiopia.

Coffea Arabica  a tree now cultivated in many parts of the World yields the brew through its seeds after roasting. The brew was discovered to energize the whole system on consumption apart from delivering a captivation aroma.  Health benefits of drinking coffee
are slowly emerging thanks to research. It is attributed to prevent Diabetic II, liver cirrosis and  prevent some types of cancer. But the most vital aspect of the beverage is its instant energizing effect.

Tea
Tea Camellia Sinensis on commercial scale originated in China and then spread to India. Where the British rulers encouraged its production in the gardens of Assam and Darjeeling.  The leaf especially the green leaf accords tremendous health benefits attributed to antioxidants and many other chemicals.

Research is where the comparison catapults into complete derailment. The inconclusive aspect of findings point more towards the green tea but is equally impressive about coffee.

In coffee drinking sphere tea is making a fast intrusion especially the green variant. More research is proving many claims of drinking tea are proving to be right. Another advantage is addition of health benefitting spices and essentials that is not possible in the case of coffee.

Hence tea is receiving large number of followers. This is further augmented by the introduction of iced tea and its innovative packaging in smart bottles. The biggest boost the consumption of this wonder brew is its amazing aroma and taste.

Tea Lounge - Creating a Sense of Comunity

The coffee houses in Jabalpur and elsewhere had a unique character and some still do.  One could laze around for hours and chat along over a cup of coffee and puffs of cigarette (No more puffs now). They became a meeting ground for groups till they where turned into family restaurants.

Any way this way or that way people still group around in many coffee houses like they used to do in the yesteryear. The coffee house drew and shaped the character of the people who became a community some with a purpose, some with a movement and some just whiling their time away.

This idea was adopted by the tea lounges that emerged in the recent times. Jonathan Spiel's tea lounge in NY has so impressed the entrepreneur that he was invited by a Kuwaiti businessmen to open a franchise in his country.

The tea lounges serve many varieties of teas steeped and brewed as per taste. Some also sell exotic loose form of teas to the visitors. Unlike the coffee houses with plain an simple decor the tea lunges are jazzed up to the tee. The fantastic ambiance emulates coffee shops in five star resorts that are the hanging grounds of jet set.

Wagh Bakri House has been at the forefront of this in India. The tea company has opened lounges in New Delhi & Mumbai. These keep all the promises that they make and are an instant hit with the youngsters. These popular tea lounges in India also serve cookies and light snacks like sandwiches and samosa. There is one more lounge in Mumbai at Bandra and one in Aurangabad City. More such joints are in offing.

The lounges sell fine tea blends including the masala chai spiced up with cardamom, lemon grass, ginger, cinnamon etc. The snacks list runs large and include traditional items like bhakerwadi, dhokla, khandvi besides paneer puff, chilli paneer roll, sandwiches, hot dog and burger etc.

How is black and green tea better than coffee?

There is a world of hot beverages. An amazing world filled with refreshing hot drinks. But sadly, it has two kings, fighting for their dominance. It may sound hilarious; but such is the story between both. Both have historically been drinks of the nobility. But coffee was known for its intoxicating effects rather than soothing ones, till few years earlier. It was always the bad brother of them and still there are many factors, which make tea much more chosen than the other.

Firstly, tea is economic. While the price of  the other has always been soaring high, its price has come down due to its increased farming and globalization making trade much easier. The price is not the only factor in satisfaction, as many will argue. But it is not only about the price. The preparation process is also simpler with no problems of grinding beans, taking the powder, filtering it, refining it further to get to the stage where you can boil it. To tackle this problem coffee makers have always attempted various instant brands to hand over the ready to boil to customers but brewing tea making still stays the simplest process. The variety that coffee breeds offer is also mild. There is no such broad difference of taste in Mexican and Ethiopian produce that are well marketed as the best.

However, talk of tea, the variety does not seem to end at all: black, green, almond and white leaves. Now talking of the taste, original taste of coffee is raw and bitter. Even its lovers cannot have it without adding milk and sugar. Whereas tea is always, ready to go. You can have it with or without sugar or milk. Apart from that, while coffee came from the forest, historically, the other came from the families of kings and rich people. Thus, when the question of class arises, tea comes in as the first choice.

From health point of view, coffee never stands close to its rival. It has more harmful caffeine, and other biochemical enzymes and oxidants, which do more harm to human body than good. On the other is all good things packed in small leaves. It aids in digestive system maintenance. Be it black or green leaf, it is good for heart, cholesterol, and many other human body systems. Overall, black or green leaf should always be the first choice over its rival. As it may intoxicate you for few moments. However, tea gives you pleasure along with the health factors, which are very essential in today’s world. So choose your health, go green, and have it. In conclusion, we should say that people willing to achieve their good health should immediately stop the consumption of coffee and step towards consuming of green and black tea as soon as possible.

Which is better coffee or tea?

Ever since man has put his foot on this planet, he has shown his true colors. Man has got everything that he needed. Naturally he was provided with food and drinks. And he has been exploiting the resources of nature because man knows that he will find something or the other which will benefit him. The quest may give rise to something that is new and even more beneficial. And hence that is the way man has been, he has always compared. He has the habit of drawing a comparison between everything that he has got and everything that he thought he would get.

As mentioned above, man has always got what he wanted. When he started living on the planet, the food and the drinks that he required were available naturally. Whether they were the fruits or vegetables, or plain simple water, it was available. And with the advent of time man also discovered fire. And naturally after discovering fire he started doing things that he had never done before. This included finding out new things which already existed on the face of this earth and also use them for the benefits that he would provide themselves with. And in this process man also came across the most important drinks in today’s world, tea and coffee.

It is the most widely consumed drinks in the world though tea has a better hold over the market and its consumers. Tea is an everyday drink and everyone consumes it on a large scale. The hot beverage was made better and better over the period of time.

People in many countries started the same with the coffee bean that they had found and were surely going to get the maximum benefit out of it. And in the process of doing all this, the coffee lovers started asking one question how one is tea better than the other whence both are consumed in such high amounts.

Well arguments like these where which is better and which is not, people don’t usually win. That is because when you will ask a tea lover if he likes it over coffee he will definitely say a yes. Whereas the coffee lovers will say something else and this will be a never ending fight.

The weather too plays an important role in seeing which is consumed more. And what is it that people have been trying to do is switch drinks and trying on something new? With natural anti oxidants and elements that support the immunity system, how is tea better than coffee can be answered but no one really will. At the end what matters now is the preference of the people and not the kind and quality of the product that will be available.

Albeit coffee is consumed in many nations the health benefits of tea are becoming obvious and attracting new customers.

Tea

Popularity of tea all over the world is growing day by day not only for its health benefits but also for the splendid taste that coffee tea carries. The art of tea drinking is engraved in many recipes that are popular all over the world.

The English introduced hot tea beverage in India although the tea plant was native to India, China and many Asian countries। The way tea is consumed in India, China and Japan varies from the way tea drink is consumed in English tea rooms and garden parties।

The hot tea recipe is often simple if you are not adding any exotic spices to the mix. In India ground spices as cardamom, cinnamon and shreds of ginger are more popular additives to the tea recipe when other masalas or spices are added it becomes spice tea or masala chai as is popular in India.

The addition of mint or spearmint, chamomile and other flavors may appeal to a particular segment of tea lovers but in my opinion black and green tea are best had with milk and sugar or for black tea lovers without milk.

Spices or other tea extracts or additives have their own benefits, but the latter rules. For the newbie tea drink lover extra flavoring helps but as he specializes in the art of making tea he develops a taste for tea as brewed plain to get the full benefit of tea leaf.
